I love Easter Sunday.
Why?
Because in Young Womens, and Sacrament meeting all they talk about is the Savior (my absolute favorite person). You get to hear about the atonement, and all the things that he did for us, and for me personally. I am grateful for him, and his atoning sacrifice. I know that there is no way that I could suffer ever single sin known to man. Somedays I don't even think that I can handle my own hardships, but I know that I can make it because of him.
During our lesson in YW's Sis. K talked a little bit about things that represented different parts of the atonement, like the sacrament cup meaning the cup that Jesus asked to be removed from him in the scriptures (I don't remember which one... somewhere in the NT). Then the miamaids sang a song. Following their song Sis. I did the same thing as Sis. K. Next the beehives read the verses for a song. Then Sis. J talked. Afterwards a couple young women from the laurel class went up and sang "Day of Tears".
A crown of thorns,
a cross to bear,
and sorrowing friends following near.
Yet, he speaks through his grief,
weep not for me,
but how can we hold back these tears?
Yom tzarr, day of sorrow
Yom dmoat, day of tears
Day of tears
(I'll put the rest on later)
The spirit was really strong in that room as we sang that song. My favorite part is
Now asleep
rest in peace
Jesus lord
with love we come
to wash away
where hate hath marred
but can it be
now we see
no grave can hold thee in
death has an end
thou lives again
and then the very last part
Tears of joy
At the end of the song it talks about how all of those tears, the day of endless tears, were tears of joy, because Jesus was ressurected.
"I know that my redeemer lives, what comfort this sweet sentence gives. He lives, he lives who once was dead, he lives my every living head."
I know that Jesus died for us and that he loves each one of us. It comforts me to know this.
This Easter season is my favorite time of year. Not because of the candy, or the little things we get in our easter baskets, but beacuse we get to talk about our Savior, Jesus Christ, therefore making Easter Sunday my most favorite holiday of the year.
